A person by name Battar (Gurukkal) (Poojari) a person performing Pooja's regularly at the Lotus feet of Goddess is called as Battar)(In Iyyengar community even today a person performing Poojas is called Battar or battachari)who is a devotee of Abirami. when he was discussing with the King of that region unknowingly for question he replies that as that day is a New Moon Day. But that day actually it was a Full Moon Day. so King surprised and asked him can you show Moon on the sky tonight? Than this abirami Battar replies that yes he can , keeping his strong believe on Abirami says like that. after some time almost the Night session is reaching. King warns him that if he is unable to show the Full Moon than he will be Killed in that Night itself. and a prior command for that killing is also issued by the King to the court.

But this Battar chanting Hymns in front of Abirami and requesting Abirami to show Dazzling Full Moon Light on the sky,immediately on hearing the chants Abirami gets ready to support and help this Battar. so Abirami throw her a ornament made out of Diamond wearing on her Nose towards the sky and made the Moon Light Glittering with Dazzling Light. so from that time this Battar is called as Abirami Battar.

The so called king also remembered his mistakes and bow before the Battar and says Anything is Possible with the Power of God.
