Give timely support to good films, Kamal tells media.
On Wednesday, writer Suka, who worked with the cast of Kamal Haasan’s recently releasedPapanasam , introduced the actors dressed as characters at a set resembling a tea shop, police station, and Rani’s Illam. Everyone present in Image Auditorium then thought the actors would be performing in an impromptu play. But that did not happen.
The entire cast and crew of Papanasam turned up dressed as the characters they played in the movie to celebrate the success of the film, which is running to packed houses. Actor Kamal Haasan was all praise for film-maker Jeethu Joseph, who wrote and directed the original Malayalam film, Drishyam . “Despite writing a successful script, he accommodated the creative suggestions while making the film a second time around,” he said.
He also urged the media to identify good movies on time so that those in the industry would be willing to take risks. “These days, I see a lot of people praising my past films on the Internet. If they had seen and supported those films back then, both my producer and I would have benefitted,” he said.
